MY SAFETY Means Educated Employees

Recognizing that a trained workforce is vital to minimizing accidents, we provide all our employees with the training needed to properly and safely perform their jobs. Employees participate in the My Safety Leadership workshop, behavioral-based safety training that encourages discussion and resolution of real-life job scenarios.

Field operations leaders receive between 40 and 100 hours of safety training. This training is designed to create safety advocates who are empowered to act responsibly and encourage the same behavior in their staff. The result is a team of employees that is knowledgeable, confident and capable of managing safety at the project location.


Our leaders know that good communication is one of the best ways to prevent incidents. They conduct daily safety sessions and hold comprehensive safety talks and meetings.

Additionally, to prepare for real-world experience, highly participatory workshops engage employees in a variety of safety-related scenarios.

  • Always work safely.
  • Know and follow Safety Policy, Life-Saving Rules, Worksite Safety Rules and Safe Work Practices.
  • Always check work areas for hazards prior to work.
  • Always stop work if hazards are not controlled in the work area.
  • Always report unsafe actions and conditions to their supervisor.
  • Never attempt work if they are unqualified or physically unable to perform.
  • Always wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Never work under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.
  • Discuss with supervisor any prescription or over-the-counter drugs that many affect their work.
  • Never engage in workplace violence, harassment or horseplay.
