The final component of the Mount Aloysius College master plan called for a new athletic and wellness facility to attract new to student athletes to the college. PJ Dick provided construction management at risk services with a GMP for a new convocation center at the college in Cresson, Pennsylvania. The two-story structural steel framed center seats roughly 2,200 people and is approximately 82,000 sf. The new convocation center is the new home to the Mount Aloysius Mounties athletic activities. This facility is used for hosting their basketball and volleyball games. The facility has a luxury President’s Suite, a concession area, team store, and locker rooms for the Men’s basketball, Women’s basketball, Women’s volleyball, officials, and visiting teams. The facility also includes the athletic administration offices, conference rooms, classrooms and meeting rooms that are used to facilitate their recruiting activities and training. The auxiliary gym is used to practice basketball, volleyball and has two batting cages for baseball practice. The weight room, fitness center, (with its aerobic and Nautilus equipment) yoga studio, training rooms and laundry will support the athletic department. The state-of-the-art audio and visual package is used in the training, coaching and teaching the athletes. The fitness center will be available to the students and the public as well. Construction occurred on an active University Campus.
