Federal Bureau of Prisons Hazleton Women’s Prison

PJ Dick and its design partner, Woolpert-KZF, provided Design-Build services to the Federal Bureau of Prisons for construction of a new 512-bed minimum-security women’s facility. Trumbull Corporation, PJ Dick’s sister company, served as site work subcontractor and performed site development and site utility installation and Lindy Paving, also a sister company, provided roadway and parking lot paving. The facility was constructed at the same 1,000-acre site as the high-security US Penitentiary and Federal Prison Camp (a men’s facility) that the PJ Dick and Woolpert-KZF Design-Build team constructed and completed in 2003. The campus plan of one and two story buildings encompass a gross building area of 21,380 square meters, or nearly 300,000 sf.

The Health Services Area includes various medical treatment facilities, including dental treatment room and dental sterilization, equipment and storage rooms, audiology and optometry rooms, procedures/treatment room, triage, x-ray, specimen collection area, clinical lab, dispensing room, isolation vestibule, psychology observation rooms, various examination rooms, biomedical waste space, medical records office, and medical administrative offices.
