OVERVIEW

PJ Dick, in a Joint Venture with Turner Construction Company and Advanced Technology Systems, Inc., provided Preconstruction and Construction Management services for the expansion and renovation of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The new facility includes two exhibit halls, 49 private meeting rooms, a 40,000 sf ballroom, and retail shops and restaurants and is the only green convention center and largest green building in the country. The project team established a Gold Certification in the early stages of the project. Meeting this challenge was difficult due to the unique nature of the building in that LEED was not designed for a convention center and the fact that the design started when LEED was in the pilot stages.
