PJ Dick, in a joint venture with Turner Construction Company and Advanced Technology Systems, Inc., provided Preconstruction and Construction Management services for the expansion and renovation of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The low-slung building occupies two city blocks and incorporates a sloping truss and membrane structured roof system to allow for open exhibit areas. The new facility connects the downtown cultural district with the neglected waterfront for not only conventioneers, but visitors and local residents. The project established several green and sustainable design and construction features and achieved a LEED Gold Certification.
